Forward Bank Donates $10,000 to Sustainable Marshfield
May 18, 2021
Sustainable Marshfield started fundraising in December 2019 to install solar panels at the Marshfield School Forest to provide a sustainable and renewable energy source along with educational materials for the students. A shared passion for the outdoors and sustainability is the foundation of this project.
“We are happy to support the Leadership Marshfield classes every year,” stated Bill Sennholz, CEO of Forward Bank. “But when we were presented with this solar panel project, we knew that we needed to be involved. Sustainability is a leading influence in moving our communities forward.”
The 20-panel array will provide 100% of the electricity demand, promoting increased use of the School Forest facilities and a reduced cost for the School District of Marshfield. A ribbon cutting event will be hosted by the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce this summer to recognize the Leadership Marshfield team and its main sponsors.
The Sustainable Marshfield team members consist of Julie Leu-Martinek, Brad Knowles, Ross Gessert, Alex Lendved and Kelsey Buhr. The purpose and objective of Leadership Marshfield is to identify current and potential leaders in the community and provide a training program that will enhance their ability to function as more effective leaders. Class participants participate in a series of eight informative one-day programs and develop group projects designed to meet each individual’s interests and community needs.
