Forward Bank
Holiday Hugs for Athens
December 29, 2020
Forward Bank and Forward Insurance have joined forces with local businesses in support of the health and wellness of the community during this holiday season. The virtual holiday hugs include three outreach activities that impact different groups in the Athens community.
$1,000 of support for the Circle of Joy Food Pantry has been pledged – the Forward team has worked with the Athens IGA to shop for items that the pantry specifically needs to stock its shelves leading into the winter season.
Forever Remembered has delivered poinsettias to residents of the Athenian Living care facility courtesy of Forward Bank and Insurance.
“The delivery of poinsettias served two purposes,” commented Lynn Luetschwager of Forward Insurance in Athens. “It brightens the day of residents that may not get to see their families in-person because of current COVID precautions. It also supports a local business that is important to the Athens community fueling our local economy.”
On December 22, a community meal was distributed to 60 community members. Businesses collaborating to provide meals and gift certificates are Circle of Joy, On The Square, M&M Bakery, Landmark Bar & Grill, and R&J Athens Café.
“Our commitment to the Athens community started long before the announcement of our intention to build an office here,” states Jessica Frahm, VP / Commercial Lender at Forward Bank. “We’ll look to work with businesses in Athens to support non-profits and those in need, now and after the doors of our new facility open in late 2021.”
