September 2, 2020
Vicky Fischer, Office Manager of the Colby location recently celebrated her retirement from the financial services industry with colleagues and friends.
Fischer has had a lengthy career in banking, having spent 37 years with Mid-Wisconsin Bank. She joined the Forward Family in October 2012 as Office Manager for the Colby location and has provided leadership and guidance over the past 8 years.
“It was a pleasure working with Vicky and watching her lead the Colby team through the years,” commented Dave Clark, President at Forward Bank. “She joined our team as we were expanding into the Colby market and was integral in bringing new customers to the bank. Her reputation in the community as a banking professional, friend, neighbor, and volunteer drew new customers to Forward.”
Fischer has been actively involved in many organizations in the Colby and Abbotsford communities, including Friends of the Colby Public Library, Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Colby Rural Art Museum, and the Colby School District throughout her long career.
On Fischer's last day, she sent a message to her coworkers, "I started my career filing checks alphabetically in the vault for hours and hours each day and I am ending it with taking a picture of a check with my phone to deposit into my account. I want to thank everyone for the luncheon, emails, cards, gifts and words of encouragement. Also, most of all, I want to thank management of Forward Bank for allowing me to finish my career here in the community where my heart is."
On behalf of the Forward Bank staff, our customers, and the community; we thank Vicky for her service and unwavering support of the bank's mission.
